The Restaurant
The Bistro first opened its doors in February of 2004 and has been ‘making an impression’ on the citizens of Kenora and area ever since. From the beginning it has been hailed as an exciting new dining experience for our area. Originally built as a small eatery and take-away food shoppe through the fall of 2003, we dramatically expanded our business and re-launched in March of 2007. Now with a larger, more comfortable location and an updated look and style we have the atmosphere to match our reputation. Our new facilities include an intimate forty-four-seat dining room and eighteen seat wine bar/lounge area. We have a beautiful outdoor licensed patio seating one-hundred-one, accompanied by a twenty-two foot tall wood burning fireplace and hearth. Our facility is more than suitable for events and special occasions bookings including business meetings, receptions, birthdays, socials and small weddings.
Owners Taras & Audrey Manzie and our staff are passionate about food, fine wine, and the art of entertaining. While there are daily menu features, there are many ‘favorites’ that we wouldn’t dare change or part with: Stella Mussels, CrabCakes, Asian Noodle bowl and the Paella Risotto to name a few. Audrey prepares amazing desserts that are a major contribution to the ‘sensation’ of dining at Southview Bistro. Her signature triple layer chocolate fudge cake is just one example. We strive to be innovative and are constantly experimenting with new ways to surprise and delight our clientele.
Exquisite food is complemented by exquisite wine. We have the ability to pair each of our menu items with an extraordinary wine, many not available anywhere else in Kenora and across the Northern Ontario region. Our staff are knowledgeable and encourage our clients to request assistance if necessary!
